Community, Confidence and Carrots: Dig-In’s 5th AGM

Notice of Annual General Meeting of Bruntsfield Community Greengrocer Limited, and Election of Management Committee Members

You are warmly invited to attend the 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Bruntsfield Community Greengrocer (trading as Dig-In) to be held in Christ Church (church centre next to the church) at Holy Corner, Bruntsfield, Edinburgh, arrival at 7pm for 7.15pm start on Tuesday 27th February 2018.

Please register your interest in the event here so we can cater for appropriate numbers!

The formal AGM proceedings will be preceded by ‘Community Confidence and Carrots’: a talk from Rob Davidson, Manager of the Cyrenians Farm Enterprise from where we source a range of organic salads and vegetables. We’re delighted to be hearing from Rob about how by running a working farm they are also able to sustain a home for a community of young vulnerable people, many with experiences of homelessness.

Formal AGM proceedings will start at 8pm, please feel free to join us even if you can’t make the talk from Rob at 7.15pm. We encourage all shareholders to attend as it’s a brilliant opportunity to hear about everything that has been happening in your local community co-op and ask any questions. The AGM will comprise of the formal business of the AGM; the election of new Management Committee members and a structured discussion on the strategy for Dig-In over the next 1-3 years. Annual accounts and the strategy will be shared with shareholders in advance of the meeting.

Election of Committee

As you are aware, the existing Management Committee is currently overseeing the running of the business on behalf of the shareholders.   We now cordially invite all shareholders aged 16 or over to stand for election or to nominate another shareholder to be elected onto our new Committee.

We are currently actively seeking Management Committee members. Having a robust Management Committee is critical to the continuity of the shop. Once new members have been elected, the new Management Committee then elects from its members its Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer.

If you wish to stand for election, please apply in writing.   Please supply your name, address and share certificate number in your nomination, as well as some information about yourself and the reason for your nomination (max. 100 words).

If you are nominating another shareholder, please include your own name, address and share certificate number along with your nomination.  The nominee should also send in his/her details and text as above.

More details on joining the Management Committee are available on our website here. If you would like an informal chat about sitting on the MC, please contact Catherine Francis on chair@diginbruntsfield.co.uk.

Discussion: Strategy 2021
