As one of many Aussies who have decided Scotland was a fine place to live, I’ve enjoyed the chance to become part of the Bruntsfield community over the past five years. Whilst my fortnightly Friday volunteering has been curtailed by our wee son who is now 1, I enjoy helping out with the behind the scenes aspects as part of the HR and MACE sub-groups and love the idea of my son growing up with a shop like Dig-in next door. I look forward to continuing to help Dig-In grow and develop for the community. As well as having a love of cooking and discovering local foods, wherever my travels take me, I enjoy the great Scottish outdoors and when not at work as an engineer puzzling over water and wastewater treatment challenges, I can usually be found surfing on the east coast or hiking in the highlands!

A local resident for many years, I am a recent Chair (and still a member) of Merchiston Community Council, in which capacity I am actively involved in community matters around Bruntsfield. I write about community issues for local media. I was a member of the Board and the Eric Liddell Centre for many years and remain a member of its fundraising group. I am currently a Board Member of the South Central Neighbourhood Partnership, a committee of the City Council, one of whose responsibilities is the award of grants for community projects in the area. I am a Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh.
